Long term, we would ideally work with some of our own ideas - currently Agar Fabric! - and collaborate with big fast fashion brands to replace the currently used plastic based materials with our agar plastic. This would act as a suitable alternative as studies show items from companies loke shoen can last just a matter of weeks in consumers wardrobes. As agar plastic would inevitably degrade, this would mean that when disposed of, would not polute the oceans and instead return to its natural break down.
SPLIKY knows that our environment is quickly succumbing to the wrath of overconsumtion, a victim to the cruel lust of human desire for new. SPLIKY also knows that we are just a social media app. We may be optimistic, but we arn't stupid :p. BUT! We also know that as a social media app, we would have incredible influence in promoting content to our users. Hence, we want to work with those offering alternatives to our current issues, such as sustainable materials, and promote their work + any collaborative work on the SPLIKY app. This would provide an opportunity for our users to get educated on the alternatives availiable, in addition to allowing the support for these alternatives to highten. If more projects like this recieve support and backing, they can be developed further and integrated into industries such as fast fashion.
